Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) is a national organization that provides opportunities for construction merit shops to network and create partnerships with other contractors. ABC supports the merit shop philosophy by encouraging open competition and a free-enterprise approach to construction based solely on merit, regardless of labor affiliation. Their mission is attained through superior education, safety, political action, business development, and creating career opportunities in the construction industry. ABC is the construction industry's voice with the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the federal government; with state and local governments, and the news media.

The Love, Unity, & Values (LUV) Institute’s mission is to provide hope, skills, and opportunity to at-risk and economically challenged youth. Many of its participants have been in state systems like the juvenile justice system, and have struggled with behavioral management. In an effort to deter violence, along with other negative social behaviors, the LUV Institute prepares Chicago youth ages 11-24 for scholastic success and to obtain sustainable employment.
The Love, Unity & Values (LUV) Institute is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports young people, ages 11-24, who face challenges with college and career readiness. We set out to provide the foundational skills they need for successful navigation by using literacy, art, and well-being (LAW) as pathways to the workforce of tomorrow.
Our CEO Calvin Williams was encouraged by the goals and mission of the LUV Institute. This led him to serve as Chairman of their Board of Directors for three years, where he worked diligently to support the mission of the LUV Institute. Since passing the Chairman torch, Mr. Williams continues as an actively supportive member of the Board of Directors through event attendance, donation of time, and financial support.
